What else from Gmail that you will really need other than big free email space, state of the art spam filtering, ready to access email via mobile? Is it Social Networking account? Yap! You need nothing than your Gmail to have a social network account. Sign into Gmail, click the new Buzz link just under the Inbox link and you already have a social network.
Just like other social networking site, Google Buzz provides status update, friends/followers, picture and movie sharing. Google Buzz updates will appear on the pane alongside updates from your friends, for profile page, you can simply view your Google Profile page to see all your personal updates complete with responses. The good news is users can connect Buzz with many social networking sites, just need one update your Twitter or Flickr also updated. If you can’t access a browser, you can still send out your buzz using e-mail, on desktop e-mail client or mobile phone. Just send an email to buzz@gmail.com from your Gmail account that displays your Buzz activity. Any photo or text will be allowed. What Buzz Should WorryAs a late mover Google Buzz has privilege to avoid all the hard lesson Facebook got as a frontier in social networking. They aren’t have a good record in building this industry. Google has had a series of social networking misfires from Wave, Dodgeball, Orkut that showed not much success and big things to consider:
To hide the list of followers or followees from your profile page, you have to click Edit Profile and uncheck the box next to Display the list of people you’re following and people following you. To manage your Buzz privacy you have to find a way that option isn't obvious on the Buzz page itself. There are hundred millions of people have email accounts other than Gmail, which I’m sure they are not willing to sign up an account any time soon and most of them who have social networking account have Facebook account. Google Buzz will have a big success, but will it be a bigger than Facebook? I’m pretty sure it’s not within a couple or two years. More than that no one knows, its technology industries every day you’ll find new innovations.
