In general there three ways we can get free domain name:

  1. Buy any annual web hosting plan. Many web hosting offer free domain as part of their standard package. Leading web hosting provider like Host Gator, Dreamhost or Bluehost group give one free domain and will not charge domain registration cost as long as your buy their annual hosting plan.
  2. Free hosting with sub-domain. Many web-hosting provider offer free hosting as well as free sub-domain. Provider like Bytehost, 000webhost give free hosting as well as free sub-domain when you register.
  3. Domain name with distinct extension such as: CO.CC or .TK

The question now: Which one is better? Is there any catch behind this?

Before we move on, in my opinion .com or .net are the best domain name extensions.
